PHOTO, the Lipton family: Charles at the bench, archive photos of Philip & Gerald
Since 1927

It began with small memorials in a grocer's window

Philip Lipton sold fruit, flowers and the occasional small memorial from a shop on London Road, Bridgeton. His son Gerald made the trade the family's own, and Charles, the third generation, has now spent forty years at the bench.

Some of the stones we clean and re-letter today were first cut by his grandfather. That's what we mean when we say we look after families.
