Our process

Gently guided, from first visit to final setting

We understand how sensitive choosing a memorial is. Here's exactly what happens, so nothing is uncertain, and nothing is rushed.

A conversation

Come to the yard, or phone if that's easier. We'll talk about the person the memorial is for, which cemetery, and what feels right, and we'll show you granites in daylight rather than in a catalogue. Bring family; bring questions; take your time.

Design & wording

We draw the stone and set out the inscription exactly as it will be cut, for you to take home, hold and consider. Change anything, as often as you need, the design is only finished when you say it is.

The making

Your memorial is cut, polished and lettered by hand. Meanwhile we prepare the council permit, pay the fees, and deal with the cemetery on your behalf, it's all included, along with the photography and vase.

The setting

We fix the memorial at the graveside on a proper foundation, to current safety standards, and leave everything as it should be. And we're still here afterwards, for cleaning, levelling, or a further inscription when the time comes.

The honest bit

What it costs, and when

We quote one price for the whole job: stone, lettering, photography, vase, delivery, council fees and VAT. There are no hidden charges and nothing added later.

Timescales depend on the granite, the design and the council's permit, we'll give you an honest estimate when the design is agreed and keep you informed while it's made.
